Reviving Islamic Understanding

Muhammad Hassan Ilyas is a dynamic and passionate theologian, researcher, and expert in ancient Arabic language and literature. A close associate of the eminent Islamic scholar Javed Ahmed Ghamidi, Ilyas plays a key role in the Ghamidi school’s groundbreaking research project, which seeks to correct common misconceptions in Islamic ideology and counter religious extremism. His significant contributions focus on clarifying the historical records of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H).

Ilyas’s unique academic background blends both traditional and modern Islamic scholarship. He began his religious education in the traditional seminary system, completing the rigorous Dars-e-Nizami program over six years. This deep immersion in classical Islamic studies provided him with a firm grounding in the rich heritage of Islamic jurisprudence, theology, and Arabic language. After mastering the traditional sciences, Ilyas pursued modern education, expanding his intellectual horizons by engaging with contemporary Islamic thought. This dual exposure gives him a broad perspective, enabling him to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic teachings and modern interpretations, making him a versatile scholar with a holistic understanding of Islam.

In addition to his deep scholarly roots, Ilyas is a staunch advocate for human rights, actively promoting justice, equality, and dignity for all. He is committed to dismantling religious discrimination, both within and outside the Muslim world. Through his lectures, writings, and media appearances, Ilyas emphasizes the importance of safeguarding the rights of individuals regardless of their faith, race, or background. His efforts to promote tolerance and respect have made him a respected voice in the global discourse on human rights within Islamic thought. Ilyas has been engaged in educational reform since his early years, beginning with his work in the Organisation for Research and Education (2009-2012). His expertise in ancient Arabic language and literature earned him invitations to deliver special lectures to PhD and Master’s students at the International Islamic University, Islamabad (2011-2012). He later became a pivotal figure at Al-Mawrid Global (2014-2018), where he led numerous educational programs, including academic publishing, media outreach, and curriculum development. Under his leadership, Al-Mawrid expanded its reach, offering educational opportunities to both scholars and the public. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at Medina International Islamic University, Malaysia, Ilyas pursued a Master of Research at University Technology Mara, Shah Alam, where he is conducting groundbreaking research on “Oaths as a Literary Device in the Qur’an,” a study that has earned him international recognition, including a gold medal at an academic conference. Today, Ilyas serves as the Head of Programs and Director of Research & Academics at the Ghamidi Center of Islamic Learning in Dallas, where he oversees key educational and research initiatives. He continues to work closely with Javed Ahmed Ghamidi as his personal research and literary assistant, representing Ghamidi’s works in academic circles and public forums. His frequent appearances on television and media platforms have made him a widely recognized figure, known for his insightful commentary on Islamic jurisprudence, human rights, and social issues. With hundreds of scholarly articles to his name, Ilyas is a prolific academic, contributing significantly to contemporary Islamic thought. His work is widely cited in academic research, and PhD scholars frequently seek his guidance, particularly in the context of the Ghamidi school of thought. Despite his young age, Ilyas has earned numerous accolades, including awards for public speaking and academic articles from Medina International University, Malaysia. His global recognition continues to grow, as he is invited to lecture on theology, human rights, and Islamic jurisprudence across the world. Through his advocacy for human rights, his scholarly contributions, and his leadership in both traditional and modern Islamic education, Muhammad Hassan Ilyas is shaping the future of Islamic scholarship while advocating for a more just and equitable world for all.
